Tempory Road Closure - Windmill Park

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality wishes to inform residents and motorists of the temporary closure of the Windmill Park Level Crossing in Boksburg on Sunday, August 31, between 07:00 and 11:00. Transnet Freight Rail (formerly known as Spoornet) needs to do urgent railway work at the level crossing due to the defects that that have been identified on the rails. “We therefore appeal to residents to use alternative routes and avoid the level crossing until such time that the work has been completed,” says Ekurhuleni spokesman Zweli Dlamini, apologizing for any inconvenience this project will cost. The following detours are proposed: Windmill Park (North of Railway line) To access Southern part of Windmill Park  Exit this area via Aucamp Street  Turn Left on North Boundary Road (R554)  Turn Left on Rondebult Road (R21)  Turn Left on EastCentral Road   Windmill Park (South of Railway line) To access Northern part of Windmill Park  Exit this area via East Central Road (Western Direction)  Turn Right on Rondebult Road (R21)  Turn Right on North Boundary Road (R554)  Turn Right on Aucamp Road   People from Windmill Park West and Windmill Park East intending to cross from one side to  the other can use the exit/entrance on the Aucamp Street to/from R554, join the Rondebult  (R21) road then East central road. The other option is to use Barry Marias Road. The Metro apologizes for the inconvenience this will cause but this is necessary to ensure safety of the road users.
