First aid is emergency care given immediately to an injured person. The purpose of first aid is to minimize injury and future disability. In serious cases, first aid may be necessary to keep the victim alive.
It concerns safety measures to prevent fires or limit their effects.
Playing in the water - whether swimming, boating or diving - can be fun. It can also be dangerous, especially for children. Being safe can help prevent injuries and drowning.
According to Kidsafe NSW, each week over 1,350 children will be injured in a preventable accident. Of these, 420 will require hospitalisation and tragically between 2 and 3 will die.
