State of Energy Report

The State of Energy Report was prepared in order to obtain a situational assessment or “baseline information analysis” and is the first step in preparation for the development of a Climate Change and Energy Strategy for the municipality. It is also closely aligned with Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s (EMM) Air Quality Management Plan and the Environmental Policy. The aim of the project was to provide a status report on the use of energy in EMM, including an assessment of the type of data available relating to energy supply and demand by energy carrier and by energy user.
