The Coen Scholtz Recreation Center is used mainly as a recreation center for groups such as modern dancing, karate, thread benders, etc as well a bookings over weekends for weddings, year end functions, etc. During the months of May to July the Coen Scholtz Recreation Center host the Ekurhuleni National Fine Arts Award.
The gallery has approximately 100 paintings and sculptures, which forms part of huge the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.
The Benoni Museum was officially opened in 1994 in the building that
once housed the old Municipal Health Clinic. This museum is an
excellent example of modern display techniques and contemporary
themes.
