ZAKES MYEZA ABRIDGED PROFILE/ RESUME

 Mr. Zakes Myeza has a B Com (Accounting) (with distinctions) in accounting, income tax, commercial law and statistics and an MBA qualification he obtained in 1993. Amongst other qualifications, he boasts a certificate in aviation management from the International Aviation Management Training Institute (IAMTI) in Montreal – Canada obtained in 1994,  a property development programme obtained from University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business in 1998, a certificate in retail management obtained from University of Pretoria in 1999, a certificate in Estate Agency from the Estate Agency Affairs Board in 2001 and a certificate in corporate governance (with distinction) from RAU obtained in 2002.

Mr Myeza served as a Managing Director of Chas Everitt International Property Group Midrand, a real estate operation dealing with all property related business but with specific focus on residential property market.
He served at the Executive Committee level and at Board level of the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) as a CEO. He also served in the following Board Committees of SACAA: Safety & Risk Committee; HR & Remuneration Committee and Audit & Finance Committee.

Mr Myeza served at the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) as an Executive Director: Finance and Support Services.  He also sat on the Executive Committee and in the following Board Committees: Developments and Risk Committee; Remuneration Committee, Tender Committee; Audit Committee and Marketing and Communications Committee.

He was a Director for entities dealing with mega capital projects and commercial developments, being Newtown and Constitutional Hill Development Companies (Pty) Ltd.
 
He has more than 15 years experience in general business management, and finance in particular.  Mr. Myeza operated at senior management level in both the public and private sectors, with emphasis on service driven organizations.
 
He held executive leadership roles with extensive board, financial and operational experience in the following companies and industries: Petronet in the petroleum transportation industry; ACSA Ltd in the aviation industry; Gtech S.A. Ltd. (a subsidiary of Gtech Holdings listed in the New York Stock Exchange) in the ICT industry.
