POSITION: General Worker
SALARY: X18 (R 64 392 – R 68 688) PER ANNUM
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read and write
- Familiar with pesticides usage, safety requirements and disposal procedures
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct pest control activities in or on council premises
- Place poison and bait stations in identified areas for controlling pests
- Ensure that pest control equipments are clean and kept in a safe place including the vehicle by locking them in the storeroom
- Manage poison utilization to ensure the safe storage and
distribution of poison by determining the quantity to be used through
scaling
- Participate in the implementation of health and safety program
- Ensure that community is protected from their pesticides
applications for safety purposes by baiting inside the holes and
minimizing poison application where necessary
- Responsible for their protective clothing and wear them at all
times during operations by cleaning them and reporting if they are not
working
- Undergo by-annual and annual tests to determine the level of exposure
