Concerns over the state of the environment in Ekurhuleni led to the metro purchasing a much-needed dredging machine to rehabilitate the city’s 300 dams and lakes.

The mayor, Ntombi Mekgwe appealed to all residents in Ekurhuleni − “black and white” − to commit themselves to building a better society.

Refuse removal calendars for the 2010/2011 removal cycle have been finalised and are  currently being circulated, now the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) wishes to share some handy hints which will ensure a smooth process of waste removal in the metro.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality wishes to inform KwaThema residents of a planned power supply shutdown on Sunday, March 14, from 07:00 to 18:00 due Eskom’s annual major breaker and isolator maintenance on the network.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has progressed well in the process to review
its 2010-2014 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and to prepare its 2010/11-2012-13 Multiyear Budget.
